Before you begin, a quick practical note for Lesson 1:

You'll need aboutĀ fifteen minutes of uninterrupted time, a few feet of clear floor space, and ideally a carpeted area for the second part of the lesson. Kick your shoes off. That's the only preparation required.

The first lesson will ask you to do something very simple — and then notice what changes. Most people are surprised by what they discover. Try not to anticipate anything. Just follow the instructions and pay attention.

That quality of attention — curious, present, non-judgmental — is exactly what Feldenkrais cultivates. And Lesson 1 will give you your first taste of what becomes possible when you bring it to movement.
