About Me
My life's work has been listening.
I grew up in New Orleans. As a young man, one experience changed the direction of my life.
A close friend, someone who was part of our circle, died by suicide. Like everyone who knew him, I was left with questions that wouldn't let me go. How could this have happened? What had we missed? Were there signs we simply didn't know how to see?
Those questions awakened a lifelong curiosity about the human experience. I began reading, exploring, and searching for a deeper understanding of suffering, healing, and what it means to be fully alive. That search eventually led me to psychology, social work, and a lifetime of sitting with people as they explored their own lives.
For more than forty-five years, I have had the privilege of listening deeply to thousands of people. Through those conversations I came to recognize something both simple and profound: lasting change rarely comes from better explanations. It begins with awareness.
My work has been shaped by Gestalt psychology, contemplative practice, A Course in Miracles, A Course of Love, and many other wisdom traditions. Yet each has pointed me toward the same realization: the deepest truths cannot simply be taught or preached. They must be discovered within our own direct experience.
I don't see my role as telling people what is true. My hope is to create a space where they can discover what is true for themselves. If someone spends an hour with me, I hope they leave feeling more accepted, more empowered, and perhaps a little more at home with themselves.
The Way of Awareness is the expression of that lifelong journey.
My invitation is simple.
Come and see.
