Feeling Now What You Couldn't Then

🍲 Emotions Are Meant to Be Digested
Just like food, emotions are meant to be taken in, broken down, and integrated.
But what happens when we don't allow ourselves to feel them?
They sit in us — undigested, unresolved, and silently shaping the way we think, react, and relate.
🌀 What We Swallowed Whole
In childhood, many of us were taught to override our emotional experience:
-
“Don’t cry.”
-
“Be strong.”
-
“That didn’t really hurt.”
So we swallowed emotions we didn’t know how to express — fear, sadness, shame, confusion.
But those experiences didn’t disappear. They remained stored — waiting to be felt, seen, and digested.
🧘♀️ Awareness Is the Digestive Fire
When you bring awareness to a past emotion, even gently, you allow it to complete itself.
Sometimes all it needs is your full presence:
-
A breath into the chest
-
A wave of tears that finally comes
-
A quiet “yes” to the truth of how it felt
The emotion doesn’t need to be solved. It just needs to be met.
🧠 Your Mind Might Resist
The ego-mind prefers control. It says:
“Let’s analyze it.”
“Let’s move on.”
“Let’s stay busy.”
But healing doesn’t happen in thought. It happens in presence.
✨ A Simple Invitation
Next time you feel something uncomfortable arise — instead of pushing it away — pause and ask:
“What part of me is finally ready to be felt?”
You don’t need to fix it.
You only need to feel it fully, without story.
🌿 Want to Practice This in a Safe Way?
My Awareness Through Eating course was designed with this in mind.
It uses the act of eating as a mirror — to gently uncover and digest both physical and emotional patterns.
